A series of 50 individual and distinct sonic postcards created in collaboration with sound artist Christophe Fellay.
These images were composed using a macro video camera moving across the surface of a vinyl record, revealing the physical texture of the grooves that produce sound.
The result incorporates two key elements: the reproduction of the literal subject, the vinyl record, and the mechanical effects imparted by the camera, such as motion blur, focus, light refraction, white balance, and camera angle.
Some of the frames were extracted from the video sequences, printed, and overlaid with a minute of music engraved onto a vinyl sheet, allowing them to be played on a standard LP record player.
A mobile microphone, moving across the vibrating surface of a drum kit, was used to create the music instead of a traditional stick.
